Court reporters and voice writers deserve better practice tools. VerbatimPrep is the platform I wished existed when I started researching this career path.
Why this exists
Court reporting has a supply crisis. The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects roughly 1,800 openings a year through 2035, and training programs cannot fill them. Voice writing is the faster path to the same courtroom credential, but until now there was no self-serve way to practice at exam speeds with real scoring feedback.
VerbatimPrep fills that gap. Every passage is scored against the error categories published in NVRA's CVR grading guidelines. The mastery gate advances you when you are ready, not when a semester ends. The free tier covers 120 and 140 WPM so you can build a foundation before spending a dollar.
Who builds it
My name is Jeff Lethig. I am a solo founder based in Tampa, Florida. My background is in commercial real estate finance, not software engineering. VerbatimPrep is built with AI tools and runs on a lean stack because the product is the practice, not the technology.
